We started off our Author's Day with an engaging presentation from children's author Johanna Hurwitz. Ms. Hurwitz has written more than 70 books for children, and today she spoke with us about her own writing process and also shared some stories with us. The children were excited to meet a published author, and can't wait to read more of her books! After the presentation, we had the opportunity to meet with the 7th grade class to share our own published pieces, our graphic novels. The first graders were excited to learn that the 7th graders are about to begin writing their own graphic novels, and they shared some insightful tips with them! I hope that your children shared their graphic novels and other published pieces with you at home.
