מעשים טובים

Yesterday, as part of our unit on the letter שׂ, we learned about מעשׂים טובים, good deeds. After discussing what defines a good deed and reading a story about good deeds, each student had to think of a good deed they have done or that they do regularly. Then, each child wrote down his/her good deed and drew a picture their good deed. It was so beautiful to hear all the wonderful deeds that all the children do. Then, we made all the students' papers of good deeds into a chain of good deeds that is now hanging in the classroom.

Continuing on with the topic of good deeds, today the first graders were given the opportunity to do amazing deeds around the school! The students were broken up into small groups and did many awesome deeds, such as picking up garbage around the building, sorting math cubes for Morah Stephanie, putting stickers on envelopes for Morah Elana, helping organize different things for the PTO, and more! The class was so motivated to work and do such great deeds! It was lovely to see! What a great way to learn all about מעשים טובים!!
