In Social Studies, we have been learning about Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement. The students have been very interested in Dr. King's life, as well as Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Today, the first graders applied what they have learned as they dramatized the pivotal moment when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus. Their dramatization included dialogue between Rosa Parks and the bus driver, police officers arresting Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King Jr.'s role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
