שלום כיתה א מצגת סיכום.ppt
OshratD@benporatyosef.org has shared the following presentation:
Dear parents,
Today the entire first grade had a special ceremony to celebrate the end of Kita Alef!! All of the children received a special תעודה, certificate upon finishing Kita Alef, and מתנה, gift. It was really exciting and all the students felt so proud of their achievements!
Additionally, I've sent home today two workbooks of summer homework, so that your child can keep up his/her Hebrew during the summer and be prepared for Kita Bet. Please know that I told the kids that any child who sends it back to school during the summer will receive a prize in return in the mail! (There are further instructions regarding this inside the workbook itself.)
Finally, I'm happy to share with you a beautiful slideshow of all activities that Kita Alef has done throughout the year. It's hard to believe how fast the time went and how much the class has done! If you'd like to reminisce with your children, I'm sure they'd be happy to watch it with you again at home on the computer. As well, at the very end of the slideshow, you can find pictures from today's special ceremony.
I really enjoyed working with all of your children and it was such a pleasure. Thank you so much for all your cooperation throughout the year. Have a nice and safe summer!
All the best,
Morah Oshrat

1A: Research Projects and Beach Party!
For an end-of-year project, the first graders have chosen individual research topics to study. Each student has researched, written notes, and created a poster about his or her topic. Some of the topics that the first graders chose include Hawaii, dolphins, mammals, and zoos.
Also, to celebrate the last day of school, we will be having a beach party on Thursday! Please feel free to send your child with a beach towel, sunglasses, and/or sun hat on Thursday.

JEWISH One-Room Schoolhouses?!
Thank you to Morah Shani Farkas, who came in to our class today to teach us about JEWISH one-room schoolhouses! The children enjoyed learning interesting facts about Chedarim, and enjoyed comparing and contrasting Chedarim and American one-room schoolhouses. Did you know that in some Chedarim, there was only one sefer, and when the children shared the sefer, some had to read sideways or read upside down?

Thank you letters
Dear parents,
Today, the students learned all about the last letter in the alef-bet, ת!! As part of the lesson on the letter ת, the class learned about the word תודה, thank you. Then, each student chose someone from the BPY faculty that he/she would like to thank and wrote him/her a thank you letter. It was amazing to see the children so excited about expressing their thanks to their beloved teachers at school. And after the class wrote their letters, each child went to personally deliver his/her thank you letter. All the teachers were so happy to receive such meaningful letters and the students really saw how saying "thank you, תודה" can make someone smile!
As well, last call to buy Kita Alef's beautiful art projects to benefit the walk-a-thon! This is the last day that they are open only to parents of students in Kita Alef. Tomorrow, they will be open to the entire BPY community.
